This Welcome to Country mat with the Traditional place name “Darkinjung” has been made as a learning item to facilitate the recognition of Country and acknowledgment of Traditional Aboriginal place names.

Designed by the Aboriginal artist Tarisse King, the mat aims to promote awareness regarding the Indigenous names of the land where people reside as well as facilitate meaningful discussions about culture, community, and belonging to Country.

Sustainably made using natural coconut fibres (coir) and professional embossing in Naarm (Melbourne), the texture on this item is permanent and made to last.
