This embossed welcome mat carries the words “Always Was Always Will Be” and is an acknowledgement of the enduring bond that the Aboriginal people have with Country and their continued residence on Country.
This artwork speaks of endurance, survival, connection, and pride. The words became known due to the land rights movement of Aboriginal people in the far western part of New South Wales in the 1980s and remain significant to First Nations people today.
This mat has been created by Aboriginal artist Tarisse King and would be fitting for anyone, mob or ally, who wants to acknowledge the traditional owners of the land.
It has been produced from sustainable natural coconut fibres (coir) and professionally embossed in Naarm (Melbourne).
