Welcome Mat – Bedigal | Aboriginal Art Doormat

The Welcome to Country mat incorporating the Traditional name of the place “Bedigal” has been made with the purpose of being an educational item prompting acknowledgement of Country and Traditional Aboriginal place names.

The design of this Welcome to Country mat, created by the Aboriginal artist Tarisse King, is aimed at promoting awareness of the Original names of the land one lives on.

It is made from natural and sustainable coconut fibre (coir) and professionally embossed in Naarm (Melbourne). The embossing gives the texture durability and a long life span.

Welcome to Country mats can also be custom-made with other Traditional names of the place or Nation.
