Welcome Mat – Djab Wurrung | Aboriginal Art Doormat

The “Welcome to Country” mat, which is marked with the Traditional name for the area “Djab Wurrung”, was designed as an educational item which promotes acknowledgment of Country and appreciation of the Traditional Aboriginal place names.

The “Welcome to Country” mat, which was designed by Aboriginal artist Tarisse King, is made to bring attention to the Original place names for the Country people reside on, and to promote discussion of the topic of culture and community.

The mat is made of sustainable natural material, which consists of coconut fibres (coir) and was professionally embossed in Naarm (Melbourne).
