Welcome Mat – Gayamaygal | Aboriginal Art Doormat

Gayamaygal, the Traditional place name on this Welcome to Country mat, has been designed as an educational mat to raise awareness about the importance of acknowledging Country and Traditional Aboriginal place names.

The Aboriginal artist behind this design is Tarisse King, who uses the mat as a tool to raise awareness about the Original names of places which people live in.

These mats are made of eco-friendly coconut fibre (coir) and are embossed in Naarm (Melbourne). They will last a long time, with its raised texture finish making it very durable for daily use.
