Welcome Mat – Guringai | Aboriginal Art Doormat

The “Welcome to Country” mat, which carries the Traditional name “Guringai,” has been made to serve as a teaching aid and to promote the acknowledgment of Country and the use of Traditional Aboriginal names of places.

It was designed by Aboriginal artist Tarisse King, who is known for her work in promoting the Original names of the land where people live and fostering positive conversations about culture and community ties with Country.

It is crafted using environmentally friendly coir (natural coconut fibre), and it is professionally embossed in Naarm (Melbourne).

A custom-designed “Welcome to Country” mat is available upon request with other Traditional names of places or Nations.
