This Welcome to Country doormat, which uses the Traditional place name “Juru,” has been crafted as a tool that inspires the acknowledgement of Country and the use of Traditional Aboriginal place names.
The design of this mat, made by Aboriginal artist Tarisse King, intends to inspire individuals to understand more about and learn the Original names of the country upon which they live. This mat can be used both as a home item and as a means of sparking conversation as people enter your property.
This mat is made from sustainable coconut fibre (coir) and has been professionally embossed in Naarm (Melbourne). The raised, textured nature of the mat makes it durable and long lasting.
A Welcome to Country mat in a range of other Traditional place names/Nations is available.
