The Welcome to Country mat with the Traditional name "Wadawurrung" is produced as an education tool to promote Country acknowledgment and the naming of Traditional Aboriginal Countries.
Produced by Aboriginal artist Tarisse King, the mat promotes awareness about the Original names of the Countries people inhabit, as well as promoting discussion about cultural respect and connection with Country.
The mat is made from sustainable, natural coconut fibre (coir), embossed in Naarm (Melbourne). The raised texture makes the product tough and durable.
Custom Welcome to Country mats can be manufactured using other Traditional place names or Nations.
